HARTLEPOOL LOSES IT'S CONSERVATIVE MP

It’s with a heavy heart that we reflect on the outcome of the 2024 General Election, where our hard-working MP Jill Mortimer sadly lost her seat. Jill’s time in office marked a historic moment for Hartlepool, and we are incredibly proud of the achievements she delivered during her time as our representative.

Jill herself said, "It was the absolute privilege and honour of my life to serve as Hartlepool MP." Her commitment to Hartlepool was evident in everything she did, from working with Conservative Leader of the Council Mike Young in securing over £16 million in funding for the Screen Industries Production Village to ensuring the future of the town’s nuclear site. These accomplishments will leave a lasting impact on the town, and we are grateful for her leadership.

As we look forward, we acknowledge the election of Jonathan Brash as Hartlepool’s new MP. Jill wished him well, and so do we. Hartlepool deserves strong representation, and we hope that Jonathan will continue the good work that Jill started, ensuring our town’s voice is heard loud and clear in Westminster.

While this election result is a setback, we remain optimistic about the future. The work we’ve started for Hartlepool doesn’t end here, and we will continue fighting for the people and the future of our town.
