Mike was happy to share with them the fantastic work that we have done here in Hartlepool as a Council and community, along with our vision for the future.

HIGHLIGHT GETS GREEN LIGHT!
28th September 2023
WE DID IT!!
The Conservative Led Coalition at Hartlepool Borough Council delivered a unanimous vote for Highlight Leisure Centre at full council tonight.
At Finance and Policy Committee on 18th September 2023, Labour Councillors voted 3 to 2 against - with Conservative Coalition Councillors voting unanimously for the development.
Inflation and material costs had caused and increase in how much the build would be and this was unfortunate but unavoidable. The Conservative Coalition determined that the town absolutely needs and deserves this facility and worked out that there were ways to ensure the finance could be achieved to get Highlight built. And that's what we did tonight!
We will break ground in November 2023!

February 24, 2022
On 8 February 2022, Brenda sadly lost her battle with Cancer and the town lost the most compassionate, caring and strong soul.
At her funeral on 23 February 2022, a huge amount of people came to pay their respects to Brenda, our rock.
At the funeral, Denise McGuckin Managing Director for Hartlepool Borough Council spoke of Brenda being "Such a very lovely lady" and reminiscing about the time that Brenda was very forthright in an employment tribunal she was giving evidence at.
Ray Martin-Wells - Hartlepool Conservative Association President spoke of Brenda as a "Formidable force" and someone who was "almost an opponent". But also someone who had a "heart of gold and loved her family and friends dearly".
We will miss you Brenda. Love from us all.

ONE TO WATCH: HARTLEPOOL CONSERVATIVES
September 25, 2021
We were excited to hear last year that Hartlepool Borough Council were replacing and repairing the play equipment at Ward Jackson Park.
Many families visit the park across the year and the standard of equipment is something that is a constant cause of concern Children can benefit from brand new play equipment in a safe
place and as a town we have a park that brings people a good dose of happiness.
Cllr Mike Young, Ward Councillor for Rural West said, "A young resident called Charlie called my from his fathers mobile phone before Covid-19 arrived and expressed his disappointment at the damaged equipment at Ward Jackson Park. I spoke with the leader of the Council and senior Council officers who were already working on a plan for the play area. As a team we all played our part and I received a letter from Charlie, thanking everyone for their help to make the park the best."
